GAAC Match for the Arts Mini-Grants

The Grinnell Area Arts Council is interested in supporting local artists and arts projects through a mini-grant program. Grants are awarded throughout the year as funds are available; GAAC's budget year begins in September. The Council considers applications at their monthly meetings (the 1st Tuesday of the month, with no meeting in December or July). In most situations the Council prefers to consider the request at one meeting and make a decision the following month. Requests must be submitted in a timely fashion in order to receive funding.

Grants of up to $500 are awarded. Projects should support the GAAC mission. If you plan to apply multiple times, please be sure to diversify your project requests to demonstrate that the funds would be used for a variety of events. Requests may also include assistance preparing a grant to the Iowa Arts Council, Heartland Arts Fund or other funding agency. This project is funded through partnerships between GAAC, Grinnell Renaissance, and Grinnell College.

To apply to the Council for more costly projects, please note that the GAAC relies primarily upon annual membership contributions by local individuals and businesses, with occasional project grants from the Iowa Arts Council.
