Grinnell High School Fine Arts Scholarship Application
Scholarship: $750
Application due: April 18, 2008
Awarded: May 22, 2008
Eligibility: college-bound, graduating Senior at Grinnell High School
Judging criteria:
- Quality of artistic work
- Quality participation in the arts
- Clarity of written expression
To apply, please provide the following 5 components. All written answers must be typed. Hand-written applications will not be accepted.
1. Name, address, telephone number, email address, and parent/guardian's name.
2. List arts-related activities, honors, and awards, in and out of school, over the past four years. Include name of activity, your participation, and year(s) of participation/award. You may send your high school resume instead if it includes this information.
3. Submit up to four examples of your creative work: photos, slides or CD of visual art; recordings of vocal or instrumental work (CD or DVD); video or DVD of theatre or dance work; or creative written work.
4. Why did you select these examples of your work and what value has the artistic process had for you? (approx. 500 words)
5. What role do you see art playing in your future? (250-500 words)
Applications may be submitted electronically to info@grinnellarts.org with artwork and recordings delivered to the Guidance Office. You may also submit both a printed copy of your application and your artwork and recordings to the Guidance Office. In either case all materials are due by April 18, 2008.
