The Grinnell Area Arts Council (GAAC) was organized in 1979 to promote, encourage, develop and assist in the understanding, appreciation and financial support of the arts and other cultural activities in the Grinnell Area. For more information, look through this site and see a web version of a recent GAAC brochure and read the 2006-2007 Annual Report. If you'd like to become a member, see our membership brochure.
Through programming and activity organized by a volunteer board, GAAC's objective is:
- to encourage participation and excellence
in the visual and performing arts
- to sponsor visiting performances and artist
workshops for the community and schools
- to provide, when possible, financial and
advisory assistance to groups and individuals
- to inform the citizens of Grinnell and surrounding
communities about cultural activities and opportunities
- to stimulate public interest in the visual
and performing arts
- to strengthen the Grinnell area by supporting
and promoting a rich and vital cultural and
arts community
- to provide facilities for the use and benefit
of performing and visual artists
|
Grinnell Area Arts Council members are individuals and groups who wish to promote the arts and the growth of our community with a rich and vital culture.
