Through programming and activity organized by a volunteer board, GAAC's objective is:

  • to encourage participation and excellence in the visual and performing arts
  • to sponsor visiting performances and artist workshops for the community and schools
  • to provide, when possible, financial and advisory assistance to groups and individuals
  • to inform the citizens of Grinnell and surrounding communities about cultural activities and opportunities
  • to stimulate public interest in the visual and performing arts
  • to strengthen the Grinnell area by supporting and promoting a rich and vital cultural and arts community
  • to provide facilities for the use and benefit of performing and visual artists

Grinnell Area Arts Council members are individuals and groups who wish to promote the arts and the growth of our community with a rich and vital culture.
