RE: THE LITTLE MERMAID JR MUSICAL
The Grinnell Community Theatre is excited to present Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr in June 2024, directed by Debby Pohlson and Tom Lacina! In a magical kingdom fathoms below, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. First, she’ll have to defy her father, King Triton, and make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to convince Prince Eric that she’s the girl with the enchanting voice. This 60-minute production features familiar songs such as: Part of Your World, She’s in Love and Under the Sea. On stage you will find various marine creatures including a crab, mermaids, the King of the Sea, a flounder, seahorses and eels. And on land we have seagulls, sailors, a prince and his valet, a French chef and princesses.
Rehearsals begin on May 6, and performance dates are: June 25, 26, 27, 28 & 29 at 7 pm and June 30 at 2 pm. All performances will be in the Loft Theatre at the Grinnell Arts Center. We are very fortunate in this community to have so many gifted young actors and singers. Our thanks to parents and teachers for nurturing and supporting the arts.
