Stew Pottery
The pottery studio at the Stew Makerspace, featuring 6 wheels, 2 electric kilns, a wedging table, and workstations. A separate glazing studio is connected.
Our ceramics program includes:
6 pottery wheels (2 VL Whisper, 2 Brent Model C, 1 Shimpo West, 1 Model MP)
2 Cone Art Kilns model GX2327D electric kilns (including kiln furniture)
2 sinks
A slab roller
An extruder
A mini extruder
A wedging table
2 work tables and 6 chairs
Shelving for work storage
2 heavy duty banding wheels
4 lightweight banding wheels
A heat gun
A Giffin Grip (for trimming pots)
4 foam trimming bats
A pug mill for recycling clay
Over 50 different glazes from Amaco and Coyote (glaze use is included in the cost when you purchase clay from our studio)
Various tools for hand building and wheel throwing (including ribs, loop tools, needle tools, fettling knives, paddles, plain rollers, textured rollers, stamps, forms & molds, wire tools, calipers etc.)
Clay (We purchase our clay bodies from Minnesota Clay Company and stock Cone 6)
Personal storage cubbies for patrons who become approved to work independently
