Craft Studio (Studio A)

Not sure what to do? Start here! The Craft Studio is a multi-purpose room with lots of tables and workspaces for projects. Many activities in this studio require little to no skill to get started. The Craft Studio is also currently home to our Textile and Tech offerings; we hope to expand soon to move Textiles and Tech into their own dedicated rooms!

The Craft Studio (Studio A) includes:

  • Rack of 3D printers, including:

    • 2 Ultimaker S3s (dual nozzle FDM printers that use plant-based PLA and water-soluble PVA)

    • 2 Formlabs Form 2 resin printers (uses photosensitive resin and a UV laser for printing)

    • Makerbot

  • 3D scanner (can render objects to be 3D printed)

  • 6 laptops with design software

  • Roland BN-20 full-color vinyl printer/cutter (can make full-color stickers and heat-transferable patterns)

  • Roland GS-24 cutter (like a Cricut but bigger, we use primarily to cut single-color vinyl)

  • Heat press (for adhering vinyl patterns to cloth)

  • 1” and 2” button presses

  • Laminator

  • Industrial sewing machine (can work with leather, tarps, thick canvas, etc.)

  • Several “regular” sewing machines

  • Serger

  • Embroidery machine

  • Beads, simple jewelry making supplies

  • General crafting supplies (pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, glue, etc.)

  • Pens, markers, crayons, paper, coloring projects

  • Paints, brushes, mini-canvases

  • Origami paper & instructions

  • Miniature painting station (primarily used for D&D style miniatures, but useful for any small detailed painting)

  • Greeting card making kit

  • Rainbow loom

  • An electronics kit, including: soldering iron, heat gun, oscilloscope, DC power supply

  • Access to simple hand tools: hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, hex keys, etc.
