Tech/Style Studio (Fiber Arts & Technology)

Our Tech/Style studio houses our fiber arts (sewing, knitting, embroidery, etc.) equipment and materials, as well as our technology and computer-driven processes like 3D printing, 3D scanning, vinyl printing & cutting (stickers, heat press designs), and more!

Fiber Arts:

  • Multiple standard sewing machines

  • Serger

  • Programable embroidery machine

  • Industrial-quality sewing machine (can handle leather, tarps, etc.)

  • Support for hand sewing, knitting, crochet, etc.

  • Support for clothing alteration and repair

  • 14” Heat press

  • Iron and ironing board

  • Most materials (fabric, yarn, etc.) are donated and free for members to use

Technology:

  • 3D Printers:

    • 2 Ultimaker S3s and 1 S5 (dual nozzle FDM printers that use plant-based PLA and water-soluble PVA)

    • 1 Bambu Lab P1S with AMS (can have 4 filament rolls loaded)

    • 1 Makerbot

  • 3D scanner (can render objects to be 3D printed)

  • Laptops and desktop computer with design software

  • Roland BN-20 full-color vinyl printer/cutter (can make full-color stickers and heat-transferable patterns)

  • Roland GS-24 cutter (like a Cricut but bigger)

  • Laminator

  • Access to electronics items: soldering irons, oscilloscope, DC power supply

  • Access to a 50w laser cutter/engraver
